An Adventure Camp in my School

My school in collaboration with RockSport, an adventure company organized an Adventure Capsule (Adventure camp) in our school for classes Pre-Primary to 2nd on 17.March.2015 and for classes 3rd to 5th on 18.March.2015. On the morning of 18th I woke up very excited. We could go in casuals, so I took out one of my favourite T-Shirts and quickly changed my clothes.

I boarded my bus and started practicing how to solve the Rubik’s Cube. After an hour, we reached the school.

I went to my class and sat down. There were only 3 children in the class when I reached the class but within half an hour, everyone who had paid for the camp reached the class. For some time we played in the class but after that we went into the ground to do the activities.

First, we were made into groups of 2 sections in one group and then we went to do the activities. Our group had 36 children

The first activity that our group did was Rock climbing. There was a slightly tilted artificial wall with small grooves to put our hands and legs into to support us while we were climbing it. Over 20 children had done the activity when my turn came. I tried to climb it but I slipped on the first groove, so I tried one more time and I almost made it to the top.

Then we went to a rope ladder and everyone climbed it. I also touched the top stair of the ladder. It got over in ten minutes.

Then we went to eat our breakfast in the class. We got two sandwiches and Cauliflower pakodas from school.

The next activity we did was Zip lining. There was a small zip line connecting from the outer part of the window on the first floor of our school to our school playground. I was a little scared in it, but I had a lot of fun in it.

Then we went to the playground at the backside of our school. All the main activities were set there.

First, we did Ball Zorbing. There was a large ball which had place for two people and there were many straps inside for safety so that when they roll the ball, we don’t fall. It was done in pairs and my best friend was with me. Everyone did it for only 20 seconds. It was the best activity.

Then we did Commando Crawl. There was a commando net and we had to crawl through it from one end to the other. I did it very fast.

Then we did Hop Scotch. It was the easiest of all activities. There were colored tires with a small wooden platform on it to hop on. I slipped two times in it.
The next activity was Crossfire. There were X-shaped Black colored crosses and H-shaped Red colored hurdles. We had to duck under the crosses and jump over the hurdles. Anyone who touched either of them while jumping or ducking was considered out. All of the thirteen girls got out but less than 15 boys out of twenty three boys got out.

Then we did Laser Beam. There were many strings and you had to get out of there without touching even one of the strings.

The next activity was Burma Bridge which consists of a rope bridge which contains only four ropes-:

  • Two ropes for holding the wooden sticks
  • Two ropes for support

The next activity was Commando Net. There was a very tall net. We had to climb it from one side and then get down from another, two children at a time.

Then we went back to our classroom for lunch. We got Rajma Chawal, Shahi Paneer, Roti and Raita from school for lunch. I did four Rubik’s Cube solving races with my friend who is the class’ fastest Rubik’s Cube solver. I beat him in three and one was a tie, so now I am my class’ fastest Rubik’s Cube solver. Then we went downstairs to dance because there was a DJ there. Then we went back to our classes and drank lemonade. Then my Driver came to pick me up. We went home by Metro. I reached my house an hour later and as soon as I reached home, I started writing this blog which you are reading right now.
