A Trip to Kidzania
On 29 June 2016, my sister Gurbani’s 7th birthday, we decided to go to Kidzania Delhi NCR in Entertainment City|Noida. We left our home at 9:30 AM and reached there by 11 ‘o’ clock. The entrance was made like an airport, we bought tickets for the full day, At the ticket counter, we all 4 got a bracelet which could be used to track other people of the group inside the park, me and Gurbani also got a hygiene cap which was to be used in some activities.
The inside was like a city, the ceiling was painted like the sky.first there was a Hospital, where there were 3 activities, Liver Surgery, Knee Surgery and Nursery. I went for the Liver surgery, they gave us a coat to be used inside the activity, we went inside an operation room, there was a stretcher with a life-sized doll on it and a table on its side which had the tools required. The tools were
• A scalper for cutting it’s stomach
• A skin remover
• A ribcage opener
• A device to keep the ribcage opened after it was cut
• An artificial liver
We were also given a mask to cover our nose and mouth, and a pair of gloves.
We first cut the doll’s stomach at the designated lines, even though it had already been cut over a hundred times, we then used the skin remover to take its stomach out, even though it could have been taken out by hand easily, then we used a ribcage opener to open its ribcage, even though it could have been done by hand, then we used the ribcage holder to keep it open, which was the only sensible thing done, we were told about the different organs in the torso, which included
• Stomach
• Heart
• Lungs
• Ribcage
• Kidneys
• Liver
• Arteries
• Veins
• Small intestine
• Large intestine
• Fat
We then removed the doll’s liver and replaced it in 10 seconds.
When it was completed, we got 12 kids for doing it and they could be used in other activites.
In the meanwhile, Gurbani was giving a driving test and she passed it and got a license. We then went to Dunkin Donuts and got a burger and donut. I also redeemed my 50 Kidzo cheque I got from the entrance at Yes Bank.
Me And Gurbani then went into the burger making activity at Dunkin Donuts. we all washed our hands, wore kitchen aprons and took our places at the table, we were given a Bun and ingredients for a burger, we first spread Aioli Sauce at the heel part of the bun, we then placed lettuce and tomato on the crown part, we placed two hash browns in the middle and wrapped the burger up, it was very tasty.
I then went for a construction worker workshop while Gurbani went for Fashion show. I was given elbow pads and then sent up the stairs where I received basic instructions, there was a rope course of two stories, we had to complete the first storey and in the last two corners there were walkie talkies and we had to use them. The first bridge was just wooden planks attached to ropes, the second one was like a burma bridge but we could only walk on the sides, the 3rd one was wooden planks attached to ropes at a steep angle and the one which took us from the 1st story to 2nd storey was just a narrow iron beam which was really steep. It was the same on the 2nd story, I came back down using the stairs. i then went to Underground Exploration which was right beside the construction one, and had a slide which took us underground and there were some activities there, but I came back from the queue as it was time for Gurbani’s Fashion Show. The children had worn different cultural dresses like Kimono, saree and suit. we then went to rock climbing activity, there were 5 harnesses attached to the ceiling, the first one i was in, was the hardest one of the 5, I couldn’t do it so, i went in the corner one, i went up to the top and came back. Next to it was a hotel which looked as if it was on fire and then the fire engine came and sprayed water on out while chanting “Kidzania Fire Fighters”. I then went to Amity University where there were many computer screens and we could get an artificial degree in any stream we liked, I chose engineering and they were telling us about the states of matter in engineering, I won in the quiz by 5/5. I got a card with my name on it which stated that I was a bachelor in engineering now(seriously?) and a sticker which said “Top of the Class”. Gurbani, in the meanwhile became a fire fighter. I then went upstairs where my dad had ordered three tacos, 3 boxes of garlic breadsticks and a coke from Domino’s.
We then stood in the queue for Mango Drink Factory which showed how Frooti is made, but as I needed to go to the washroom, only Gurbani did the activity.
After relieving myself, I wandered around the lower floor.
I then went back upstairs and we bought 2 pazzports, 1 for me and 1 for Gurbani, We got a normalized pzzport which could be upgraded to 2 other categories by collecting stamps from activities, the higher the category of pazzports, the better perks you gain.
I then went to do an activity in which we had to clean the AC Filters by going near the AC ducts and come back down using a slide. I wore my knee pads and gloves and went upstairs, there were many says to go so it was very confusing, I got a brush and removed the filter to clean it and went back down using the slide.
Next I went to Animation workshop in which there was a webcam which clicked photos rapidly and props were moved to show a difference of 1 second at per photo, we decided to make a Dinosaur Fight, I was made the editor so I had to use the webcam to take photos at the right time. The end result was very smooth and looked very cool.
Then I stood in the queue for Airplane Simulator but the line was very big and it could take 1 hour for my turn to come, so we skipped it. We went back down and went for the Kidzania Court, in which we had to fight a court case. We stood in the queue for 20 minutes but some children broke the line and we couldn’t do it, so we just left. That was one good activity we missed just because of some hypocrites with no sense of discipline.
We then went to The Hudson Cafe to eat and then went back home.
It was a very interesting and new experience
