A Trip to Adventure Island

On 9.Jan.2016, I along with my Parents, 2 cousin sisters, Amani, who is my age, and Rehmat who is my sister’s age, Their parents, and my sister Gurbani planned to go to Adventure Island in Metro Walk Mall, Rohini, sector-10.

We all woke up at 10 ‘o’ clock on in the morning, and got ready and by 11:30, we were ready to go.

We went in our Swift Dzire as it had an odd numberplate and the Delhi Government is trying out a new scheme in which on odd days, people can only use vehicles with odd numbers on their numberplate and vice versa on even days.

I and Amani listened to Music on our phones using our earphones.

I already had visited Adventure Island two times, once on my fourth birthday with my parents and once when I celebrated my tenth birthday there.

We reached Metro Walk Mall in about an hour. We went in and met some of our other cousins, their cousins and their parents.

We all bought tickets for Adventure Island and went inside.

We saw that a life-sized replica of an Air India plane in which a restaurant was being made. The Aeroplane was put on a large platform on an artificial lake just beside the rides.

There is an artificial lake which seperates the area where there are all the rides from Metro Walk Mall, hence the name island. There is a bridge which connects both of them. There was also a replica of Eiffel Tower in the middle of a bridge (Don’t worry it was not made of heavy steel and measured just 3 meters (10 feet) compared to the 324 meters (1062 feet) J.)

The ride which was on our left side was Cyclone. It was a carousel which had many seats attached by metal chains to the top of the carousel and when the ride started all the seats went up and the carousel starts revolving.

All of us, except Rehmat and Gurbani, because they were too small for the ride, and my father, as he was clicking photos went on the ride. We all had so much fun that we enjoyed it twice.

Then we went to Bush Buggers, it is a small Jungle Safari which runs on a track and there are many life-sized artificial animals which do many things. Example – Elephant squirts waterdrops out of its trunk, crocodile opens and closes its mouth, etc.

We then went further and rode on Space Jump. It has 12 two-seater-sofa like plastic seats with handrests in between. We sat on them and and when the ride started the machine in the middle which had everything attached started revolving and all the seats also started the same and then the seats started to go up and down turn-by-turn. It had a pleasant tickling sensation in the stomach.

Then we went to Fire Brigade which was just in front of Space Jump. It was a small bus which went up and down on a fixed point. All of us could sit in it as it had no height restrictions. Whenever it went up and came down, it tickled really hard and the bus was soon filled with laughter. It was a very fun ride for both adults and small children.

Then we went to Splash, which we all were really excited for. It has 4 log shaped 3-seater vehicles and 2 mountain-shaped structures, one which was not very tall and another tall one. First the log would go to the base of the short structure by the water current and by a conveyer belt the log would go to the top and then it would come down from the other side with a very fast speed thus making a big splash in water and the same process was repeated with the longer one. It had the longest line in the amusement park and after 15 minutes when our turn came the adults saw that everyone was getting really wet and we should not go. But we children wanted to go and eventually the adults came in the next log behind us too. Whenever the log went on the conveyer belt, we got scared as it was very steep and the log was very heavy. But we had much fun on the ride.

We then saw Twister which has 2 parallel rows of seats next to each other and when it started , it took turns and started moving in random directions in mid-air, all the people were screaming.

Then there was Sidewinder. It was a large wheel attached to a rod. The rod was connected by two long metal rods attached to the ground. When it started it rotated and moved in different directions. It looked dangerous too and certainly not for the faint-hearted.

We then planned to go to Z-Force, which has a long bar and a set of seats on either side of it and when it started the set of seats started going up and down at random times for 2 minutes.

But then we went to our left where there were food courts and beside the food courts was Sky Riders. It is a ride which has a carousel with many seats on which we lie down on our chest and it starts revolving and going up and down.

Next to it was Splash Dunk, a smaller version of Splash for little kids, but it wasn’t working.

Then we went to Air Pogo, which has 6 small 4-seater aeroplanes fixed on grills and when the ride starts the wheels on the grills which are fixed at every small distance start working and they push the plane forward and does 2 rounds of the grills at a time. We all sat on it and enjoyed it so much that on our request, the bhaiya who was there let us take 3 rounds at a time.

Then we did Lightning Bolt which is much like the cups which rotate you must have seen in other amusement parks or Disneyland advertisements but they also moved up and down just like space jump.

Then we went to Rocking Tug which was much like sidewinder except that it moved within a fixed area and was meant for little kids. We all had much fun in it too and took 3 rides of it.

Then while going to the entrance we rode in cyclone again, then took a photo and bade goodbye to Adventure Island.

Then we ate our lunch at Pizza Hut.

It was a very great and fun day and I even had dreams of Adventure Island at night. Looking forward to going there again soon.
